Psychotherapy for people who understand themselves—and still feel stuck.

For thoughtful, accomplished people who have spent years understanding themselves, but find that insight alone hasn’t changed what hurts.

You may know where your patterns come from. You may have thought carefully about your childhood, your relationships, the choices you’ve made and the life you’ve built. You may even have been in therapy before.

And still, something repeats. Something hurts. Or something important in your life feels just beyond your ability to change.

I work with individuals and couples who take their inner lives seriously. Together, we pay attention not only to what you understand, but to what happens beneath that understanding—in emotion, relationship, old patterns, and the parts of ourselves that don’t change simply because we’ve explained them.

Individual & Couples Psychotherapy in New York City and Online.

Depth without pretension.

Freud said love and work are all there is. He wasn't wrong — but he left something out. Even when love and work are good, the living is still complicated. And what's complicated is in the living itself.

That's the space I've worked in my whole life- as a therapist, and a person.

As a therapist I listen closely, think quickly, and remember everything. People often say it feels like talking to an old friend — one who sees you precisely, without flinching. I'm genuinely there with you, and yet outside you enough to help you find what you couldn't reach alone.

Warm. Caring. Direct. Also skeptical of easy answers - including my own.

I've been a psychotherapist (LMFT) for a decade. I’m based in New York City, with training in multiple models like EFT, psychodynamic therapy, IFS, and psychedelic therapies. More and more I’m using AEDP — an experiential, attachment-based approach to deep change. I work with individuals and couples.

If you think carefully about your inner life and you're still stuck, that's not a failure of insight. That's just how deep this goes. Let's find out together.

Let’s work.

Sessions are 45- 60 minutes. We meet weekly or bi-weekly via Telehealth, sometimes more. The work is experiential and relational — meaning we don't just talk about what's happening, we work with it as it happens between us.

I work with adults navigating the full complexity of a life: relationships, identity, grief, ambition, meaning, the gap between who you are and who you thought you'd be by now.

Psychotherapy requires commitment of time, money and energy. I’m happy to discuss fees on the phone/email and reserve limited spots on my schedules for sliding scale clients. I know how difficult it is to find a therapist and how expensive the process can be. In order to make it easier I offer a free initial phone consultation.

The hardest part is usually the first message.
